Finances - Day 20

Zero Credit Score

A ZERO credit score is the BEST credit score.

Truth be told- during our debt-free journey, the more I paid off debt, the lower my score dropped 😟 The more credit card accounts I closed, the more my credit score tanked. ☹️How unfair!! I was finally doing something good, and the system was punishing me for it!! (Further proof that ole man FICO is a jerk who could care less about me)🤷🏽‍♀️

So Initially, when all the debt in my name was paid off and gone, my credit score was really poor. But, honestly, it didn’t bother me because I knew I didn't need their DEBT SCORE anymore. 😌

Within 6 months or so my score dropped to ZERO, or “indeterminable.”

Remember, guys, credit is a way to see how well you utilize DEBT.

It has nothing to do with how much money you have and if you manage it well.

a Zero credit score is not the same as a low credit score. Zero means you have no credit, just real money, which is pretty awesome!

With a zero credit score along with a saved-up down payment, we were able to buy our first house. Did I also mention we were self-employed? IF a self-employed person with a zero credit score could buy a house the right way, so can you, my friend. We used a mortgage company that did manual underwriting, and after sending in all the paperwork they needed, we were approved. LIKE THAT.

The Ironic thing is after we bought the house, my credit score became almost perfect. Lol, who even cares!

Ways To Never Use Credit:

🔥Decide you don’t need it

🔥Have a 3-6 months emergency fund

🔥Save up and pay cash for major purchases.

🔥Pay off all of your debt fast

🔥Wait for your credit score to drop to zero.
