Finances - Day 14

Budgeting: Part 1

Y’all thought something was gonna happen after that transition shhhhhhhhhhooooooo...I got kids 😂

But honestly, if you can do these three things, it will make your budget run much more smoothly.

Here is how to do it:

✅Be Detailed: Include every item you can think of that you spend money on and put it on the budget. Break down spending into smaller subcategories. For example, instead of “Food,” break it down into restaurants, groceries, date night, etc.

✅Be REAListic: If you are trying to pay off debt, it may be useful to be frugal but always be realistic about budgeted amounts to avoid setbacks. It's unrealistic to plan for $300 groceries for a family of 4. That’s just setting you up for failure. If you usually stop for coffee every single day. It's probably unrealistic to think you will never stop once. Budget for 1/2 the amount to ease yourself into the change.

✅Be Flexible: Account for unexpected expenses and be willing to adjust numbers throughout the month as needed. Shoot, it's your nephew's birthday, you need to send a gift!!! That's okay. Make the necessary shifts in your budget and move on. And remember, It's also ok to say no to things.
