Finances - Day 16

Sticking to Your Budget:

As long as it was on the budget.👀

But if it wasn’t……..we got problems. 😖 Here is what I recommend:

Once you create your budget line item for Fun Money, Home Decor, or whatever you want to call it. Go ahead and plan the day(s) that you will spend the money on. And ONLY BRING CASH. No plastic 😭

This will do 4 wonderful things:

🕺🏽It will help your guard against feeling impulsive if this is an issue for you. By giving you some guardrails but also giving you the freedom to buy things you enjoy.

🕺🏽It will ensure you spend the money in a way that makes sense with your cash flow. Budgeting for something is one thing, but figuring out *when* you can spend it throughout the month is also super important…especially if you are on an irregular income.

🕺🏽It will also give you something to look forward to in your week. We love to look forward to things, big or small. Ooooh, it's Wednesday!? If you’re looking for me, catch me at Home Goods.😌😂

🕺🏽No plastic cards or other cash envelopes allowed (cause I know how we do 🫠💀), just the envelope for the fun money. The spending will stop when the cash stops.

Everydollar, the budget I use, has an awesome feature called ✨paycheck planning✨ where you can go in and decide what date you will spend each line item. You can even break up an amount over several dates throughout the month. This ensures your cash flow is tight and right, and you can spend with confidence!
